Best Friend Buddies
December 5, 2008 by cola123 · 6 Comments · Announcements
Lots of children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 are Buddies. If you don’t know what a Buddy is, you’ve came to the right blog. A Buddy is someone who helps you if you’re upset or being bullied, although I think there isn’t any bullying at our school. Mrs Winchurch is the person who helps us to understand the children who are upset. Every Monday we have a meeting - Year three and four go first, then it’s Year 5 and 6.
Our top ten tips for stopping bullying are:
- If you’re getting bullied walk away
- Tell an adult
- Don’t hit back or attack
- Ignore them
- Don’t let any one make you feel useless
- If you see any one getting bullied help them
- Don’t shout it will make it worse
- Tell the bully to back off
- Think how you would feel
- Last of all be a buddy and don’t be a bully
So if you see any bullying, be a buddy and make the whole world a buddy!

The Simpsons hit and run (ps2)
November 10, 2008 by cola123 · No Comments · Game, Reviews
“Spingfield’s biggest driving hazard’s are let loose! Drive your self crazy in lawless floors and roads and head on as your favourite character. There are over 50 missions and the actual sound of the Simpsons cast.” I personally think the game is really good because there are lots of levels and the voices are the same as in the show. It’s aimed at the 7+ year group and it is for one player. Do you want to know more, well buy it! This is available for other platforms too.
Tupton Stop Frame Animation Workshop
July 18, 2008 by year 6 · 3 Comments · School Trips
On Thursday 10th July, Year 6s took part in a stop frame animation workshop at Tupton Hall School. To start, Lauren, a Tupton Hall School ICT teacher, showed us an animation done by one of their members of staff to inspire us! Then we spent the next hour building our own models out of Plasticine. After a break for squash and snacks we set to and recorded our own animations using a program called Anasazi Stop Motion Animator. We had about half an hour to do this but we all managed it! When we got back to school, we edited and added titles to our videos using Windows Movie Maker. Induelukia and Bagpuss 007 who missed the workshop, then put all the videos together in one big production which you can watch by clicking on the picture.
We would like to say a big thank you to Tupton Hall staff who made this workshop possible and especially to Lauren who looked after us so well.
Safety Crew Chesterfield
July 18, 2008 by chewbacca · No Comments · Homework help
When the Year 6 went to the territorial army centre in Chesterfield we learnt about:
cycling safety
water safety
fire safety in the home
building site safety
anti-social behaviour
drugs
It was great fun. Our school won the challenges and everyone got pencil case and a goody bag. I think everyone learnt something, I know I did! My favourite challenge was the drug “stations game”.

Iron Man
June 27, 2008 by dragonx · 2 Comments · Reviews
Iron Man is a great film I would see this film again probably or even a few more times. They is a man called Tony Stark at the beginning of the film, he goes to a different country to build a rocket (a very clever man that can build almost anything). On the way there he got captured and taken away and a bomb blew up near and nearly killed him. But a person in the dungeon with him had taken out his heart and but a blue electrical thing inside his body to keep him alive. So he build a suit in the dungeon and flew out of there but he crashed in a desert and had to walk miles back. I’m not saying anymore if you want to watch it go to the cinemas and enjoy the movie! (get popcorn).

We looked in to the classrooms and the library, and we did trampolining, rocket ball, dodge ball, dancing and ran one Olympic lap. As well as that, we had dinner/lunch there, you can get all sorts of food, I had a great time there and we are going again on the Wednesday 2nd July 2008 for a Induction day. It will be great!
Rick’s chickens web review
June 27, 2008 by Induelukia · No Comments · Reviews, Website
I accidentally came across this site when I was looking for a certain breed of chicken and came up with Rick’s Chickens site! The site keeps a record of the chickens how they died and punishments if the chickens are bad. Straightaway I took to the site, although I laughed at his funny comments I learnt alot about chickens too. I highly recommend the punishments page ( for which I’m going to give a link to http://www.rickschicken.co.uk/punishments.htm ) and also the R.I.P page to anyone who has good humour! It would be good if he had a blog to post things back to him though!

Brackenfield well dressing
May 23, 2008 by bagpuss 007 · 2 Comments · Announcements
Every year Mrs Robson and the years 5, 4 and 6 go to Brackenfield church hall to make the well dressing. We start by putting a stencil over the clay in the mould, and then we poke holes along the lines in the clay. The next step is to put wool over the clay holes to outline the pattern. We use natural materials such as pine cones, leaves and flowers to make a colourful picture. All the well dressings are on display over the spring bank holiday at Brackenfield. Come and see ours!
Mario kart wii
May 23, 2008 by jedimaster · 6 Comments · Reviews
Grab the wii remote or wheel and join Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi and Toad in a mega multi-player mayhem for all the family. Race on over 30 different tracks and drive a kart or motorbike. Race in 8 different tournaments – each tournament has 4 tracks, the hardest thing about tournaments is that you start in last place! However, it’s quite easy to get ahead of everyone. Winning a tournament unlocks more people to play as and more karts to race with. Use your mushroom to win the last race!
I rate this game 93%.
Flamingo Land
May 23, 2008 by vargs · 4 Comments · Places to visit
I WOULD RECOMMEND going to flamingo land because there are lots of rides, animals including a seal lion show. For your birthday you can even be a zoo keeper and help care for the animals. I really want to do this!
Some of the rides include log flume, lazer quest and cliff hanger. There are also lots of gift shops.
